Governance Support Committee

Governance Support Committee helps proposal authors, hosts, and the community move through governance.

Purpose

The Governance Support Committee is a service committee. Its job is to make the governance process clear, transparent, and convenient for proposal authors, hosts, and the community.

It is not a political, product, or lobbying body. It does not judge proposal quality, content, authors, or execution results. Its role is to support the process, not to shape the opinion of the community or hosts.

What the committee helps with

  • Preparing and launching on-chain votes.
  • Helping authors start proposal discussions.
  • Organizing AMAs for proposal authors when useful.
  • Monitoring public status updates for funded projects.
  • Tracking deadlines and next steps publicly stated or fixed in approved proposals.
  • Informing hosts and the community about current proposal status.

Basic process

  1. A new proposal discussion starts.
  2. A committee member creates a Telegram chat or Discord thread.
  3. The author receives governance recommendations: general, product, and go-to-market.
  4. The community and committees discuss the proposal.
  5. The committee decides whether additional support is needed.
  6. If support is needed, the committee announces and runs an AMA, then helps with on-chain voting.
  7. If not, the committee gives recommendations for the AMA and vote launch.
  8. After approval, the committee tracks deadlines and regular executor updates.
  9. If the contract allows funding recall, the committee may recommend that hosts use it when obligations are not met.

Working space

Proposal discussions should happen publicly on gonka.vote rather than in closed Telegram or Discord threads.
